Stuntwoman Reshma Pathan is the body double for almost all film actresses in the 1970s and 1980s in Hindi film industry. 14 year old Reshma joined the industry in 1968 to support her family. By the early seventies she had gained recognition for her work. Her work as the body double for Hema Malini in Ramesh Sippy’s blockbuster Sholay (1975) made Pathan an overnight celebrity in the stunt industry. She even became known as ‘The Sholay Girl’. Aditya Sarpotdar has made a movie about Reshma’s stunts in the film, calling it The Sholay Girl (2019), which came out on Zee5 on March 8, 2019. The Sholay Girl (2019) stars Bidita Bag as Bollywood’s first stunt woman.

Reshma Pathan was the first stunt woman who officially got a membership in the Movie Stunt Artists Association of India.
